Congratulations to our chef Nargisse Benkabbou on her recent appearance on BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen Live. We thought you were fantastic!
Nargisse has worked on the recipe development of many of our for aisha meals, bringing Moroccan and European inspiration to our wonderful dishes.
She has recently released her debut cook book ‘Casablanca: My Moroccan Food’. The book has already received fantastic reviews, with Nigella Lawson describing it as ‘A book that’s infused with the flavours of Morocco and is as accessible as it is inspiring’, and it’s already won the Observer Rising Star in Food 2018 Award.
The book consists of 100 modern and traditional recipes inspired by Moroccan cuisine. The title of the book ‘Casablanca’ “symbolises the meeting of old and new, the same way Casablanca, the city, embodies nowadays an exciting blend of tradition and modernity.” The book has been described by some as a ‘breath of fresh air’ for traditional Moroccan recipes, and Nargisse says “Writing Casablanca has been a magnificent experience and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did.”
‘Casablanca’ is now available in a number of bookshops such as Waterstones, and it can also be purchased from her online blog, www.mymoroccanfood.com/cookbook/
